OXFORD COUNTY - Farmers in Oxford County are being to asked to keep their field irrigation systems from spraying water onto the roadways.
Police have gotten a few complaints next door in Norfolk on Teeterville road about irrigation systems spraying water and causing dangerous driving conditions for motorists. Overspray can be dangerous because it causes slippery road surfaces and can limit visibility for unsuspecting drivers.
Sprays are supposed to be positioned so that they do not cause run off onto the road resulting in ponding, or reach the road where they can be a danger to users.
These conditions can be especially dangerous for motorcyclists who may unexpectedly get hit with a spray of water leading to a potentially serious or fatal collision.
