The OPP discovered over $90,000 in drugs and two knives during a traffic stop on Highway 24.
The OPP have seized more than $90,000 worth of drugs during a traffic stop.
Police stopped a Grey 2003 Chevrolet Silverado travelling along Highway 24 for a Highway Traffic Act violation on Sunday October 23rd around 8 a.m.
While the truck was stopped, the officer noticed some items in the vehicle and began an investigation. During that time, the officer discovered marijuana, ecstasy, and methadone as well as two knives.
Police arrested and charged 19 year old Matthieu McLean of Timmins and 29 year old Krystal Searles of Haliburton with two counts of possession of a substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a substance contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances act, and occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a prohibited or restricted weapon inside contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
The driver, 28 year old Scott Sullivan of Timmins, was also arrested and charged with the same offences as well as driving under suspension.
All three will appear at a Brantford Court to answer to the charges.
