CAS Oxford has released their performance statistics for the 2013 - 2014 year.
WOODSTOCK - The Children’s Aid Society of Oxford has released their performance indicator statistics for the 2013 and 2014 year.
They do this as a way to be transparent to the public and to improve outcomes for children and youth who are receiving their services and strengthen accountability. Executive Director with the CAS Oxford Bruce Burbank tells Heart FM one of the statistics that stood out to him.
"75 percent of the children in our service were able to move on, either moving back home or some other form of permanent care and so they were able to leave our care within a year and that is an increase of 5% over the previous year."
The reports also allow the kids to grade their foster parents. Children aged 10-15 in Oxford graded their foster parents 6.9 out of a potential score of 8 which is just above the Provincial average. Burbank explains why they release these numbers.
"The purpose is to improve outcomes for children and youth who are receiving our services and also for the families and also to strengthen accountability across the whole child welfare sector."
You can read all of the results on the CAS Oxford website.
