Conservative Oxford MPP Ernie Hardeman promoted his Shop Local Buy Local initiative in Ingersoll on Friday.
INGERSOLL - Oxford MPP Ernie Hardeman paid the town of Ingersoll a visit, in order to promote his Shop Local Buy Local initiative.
Hardeman is encouraging residents to support local businesses.
"Obviously with all the layoffs and the things that are happening in the riding over the past number of months, we thought it was important that we could to encourage people to frequent the businesses in our community."
He listened to business owners concerns and discussed how they can get the shop local message out there.
"It's one thing to beautify your town, but if the people that need to see that don't come into town then that is not going to encourage business. We've got to get a message out collectively to make sure that people start realizing the benefits of shopping locally."
Hardeman visited Tillsonburg a couple of weeks ago and he is planning a Shop Local Buy Local visit to Woodstock in the near future.
