UPDATE 2 (September 24th @ 4:02 p.m.) - Another update regarding the Oxford County IT cyber incident.
It has been released that personal information of past and current employees was compromised as a result of the cyberattack. Each past employee has been notified via a letter mailed to their last known address to be advised of precautionary measures and support the County is able to offer. If a past employee needs to update contact information, you can do so on the Oxford County website.
At this stage, the investigation is ongoing as to whether and to what extent the personal information of other groups may be compromised. If it is determined that the personal information of other individuals has been compromised, the County will carry out notifications as quickly as possible to those affected.
The County continues to ask for patience at this time, and will continue to provide as much information as they can, as they are able.

UPDATE (September 23rd @ 5:30 a.m.) - In a statement released yesterday, Warden Marcus Ryan confirmed that it was a cyber security incident but IT staff responded as soon as it was identified.
The County called in third party cyber security experts to conduct a forensic investigation while also assisting with containment and remediation. The County is also working with them to introduce additional security measures to make sure this doesn't happen again.
Officials are working to determine if any information was compromised during the incident. If any information was compromised, the extent of the leak will be investigated as well.
Warden Ryan is asking everyone to be patient while this investigation takes place.
"Please be aware that our full response to this incident may occur over months, not days. Further, as with any type of investigation, there will be details we cannot publicly share without compromising the investigation and our response to it. We ask for your patience as we continue to respond to this incident. We are committed to providing you with as much information as we can, as we are able."
All of the county's systems are operating normally at this time, so there should be no changes public services.
