WOODSTOCK - No one was hurt, but the damage is estimated at about $11,000 after a fire in the Friendly City.
According to the Woodstock Fire Department, a passerby noticed smoke coming from a garage on Sales Drive at around 7:10 p.m. on Saturday. Fire crews were able to contain the flames to the garage area and they also confirmed that the home did have working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.
It's unknown what exactly sparked the blaze at this time. However, the fire department says the common causes of garage fires include lithium-ion batteries, smoking materials, improper use of extension cords, and improper storage or disposal of oily rags.
