Oxford County will send four candidates for the ambassador of the fair program at the CNE this year.
Oxford County will be well represented at the CNE this year.
The popular three week fair kicks off next week at Exhibition Stadium in Downtown Toronto. Oxford will have four contestants in the CNE ambassador of the fair program. The women will be competing for the ambassador title during the first weekend of the fair. They are Rachel MacLean from Drumbo, Jenna McKay from Woodstock, Gina Chockley from Embro and Derika Nauta from Tavistock.
Heart FM was able to speak with the new General Manager of the fair Virginia Ludy. Ludy is the first woman GM at the CNE, however she is not making a huge deal about it.
"Theres been a lot made about that, I'm hoping they hired me for more than just my gender, I guess it is a milestone, I mean the Canadian National Exhibition has been around for 137 years and it's probably about time they had a female General Manager."
