The Pittock Conservation Area in Woodstock will be open this year from April 22nd to October 16th.
WOODSTOCK - The Pittock Conservation area will be officially open to the public as of April 22nd.
Pittock is known for being a hot spot for camping in the Woodstock area. It offers campers both private and picturesque campsites, washroom and laundry facilities, a pool, and so much more. Not to mention you can also swim, fish and go boating on Pittock Lake. The conservation area is also upgrading some of their campsites this year so they have hydro capabilities.
But you don't have to be a camper to enjoy some of the fun activities at Pittock. For just $7 a day for an adult and only $5 for a child, you can enjoy swimming in the lake, the hiking and biking trails, a disk golf course, and a children's splash pad. You can sign up for some of their summer recreation programs.
Lot's of organizations also enjoy hosting events at Pittock. Here's a list of all the events that are scheduled at the conservation area this season:
June 11: Multi Sport Canada Woodstock Triathlon.
July 2-10: Family Fishing Week (no fishing license needed).
July 9: Pittock Fishing Derby.
July 16: Canadian Raptor Conservancy Presentation.
July 30: Scales Nature Park presents Wetlands at Risk Program.
August 6: Woodstock Rotary Club Dragon Boat Festival.
August 13: Salthaven Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre Presentation.
August 27: Scales Nature Park presents Amazing Amphibians Program.
September 3: Speaking of Wildlife Program.
September 24: VON Hike for Hospice.
October 22: Cool Running.
