After more than 3 years - the family of Tori Stafford will be hearing closing arguments from the Defense in the first degree murder trial of 31 year old Michael Rafferty this morning. Closing arguments are also to begin this afternoon by the Crown that will likely lead into Tuesday. Rafferty stands accused of kidnapping, sexually assault and first degree murder of 8 year old Tori Stafford after she disappeared from her Woodstock Public School April 8, 2009. Rafferty?s former girlfriend, 21 year old Terri-Lynne McClintic, pled guilty April 2010 for her involvement of Tori?s murder and disappearance and received a life sentence with no chance of parole for 25 years. Justice Thomas Heeney is expected to charge the jury this Wednesday that is anticipated to take 2 full days. The jury has been absent from proceedings since last Tuesday while further legal arguments were worked out. The trial resumes at 10 am.
