13 students from 7 High Schools in Oxford County won a Rotary medal last night, which also includes a $500 bursary.
WOODSTOCK - The Rotary Clubs in Oxford County, which incluides Ingersoll, Tillsonburg, Woodstock and Woodstock-Oxford handed out their annual awards to exemplary students last night at a special ceremony at the Quality Hotel and Suites.
13 students from 7 High Schools in Oxford County won the Rotary Award, which also includes a $500 bursary for post secondary education.
The Rotary Medal Awards are for high school seniors. who have excellent moral character, participated in one or more school activity, ade worthy contributions to the life of the school, be a reasonably good student and in essence the students selected should have those characteristics, abilities and interests which would make them worthy representatives of the school and personify our Rotary motto "Service Above Self."
Alyson Moylan and Liam Fletcher from Glendale High School were both extremely honoured to win.
"It is in an incredible feeling to be recongized for something like this. It came as a shock, because with our school, we were both nominated by our teachers as being the most outstanding citizens in our school and I find that to be a great, great honour."
