Oxford County Public Health's annual Smile Campaign will run from April 4th - 18th this year.
OXFORD COUNTY - It will be all smiles in Oxford County for the next couple of weeks. The Smile Campaign is back for another year from April 4th -18th as a way to promote good oral health in the county.
Dental Hygienist Anita Grover tells Heart FM this is the third year in a row they have run the Smile Campaign.
"We have all the high schools in Oxford County participating with us. Our launch starts at St Mary's High School where everyone is welcome to come out and enjoy the launch at 11:30am"
Grover adds, this year they are encouraging participants to take a "smiley" selfie.
"We have cut out smiley faces that we encourage people to take a selfie with and post on our Oxford County Facebook page. We also have Instagram and Twitter."
Those posting to the web are asked to include #smilemonth. The cut outs will be available at schools, public events and the Oxford County Public Health Dental Clinic during the campaign.
But the campaign is also adding a new feature. Grover tells us about the Smile Drive.
"Between April 13-15, any resident in Oxford County can come to our dental clinic at 93 Graham Street (Woodstock), bring their old tooth brush, come in and check out our dental clinic if you haven't been there before and learn about the programs we offer."
Tartar on your teeth can lead to potential health problems if you do not brush and floss regularly.
For more information you can call the Oxford County Public Health Dental Clinic at 519-539-9800 with the extension 3510. You can also visit their Facebook event page by clicking here.
