The Social Planning Council of Oxford is looking for a few good men and women to volunteer on their Board of Directors.
OXFORD COUNTY - The Social Planning Council of Oxford is looking for some more volunteer board members.
Stephanie Ellens-Clark says There vision is to see every resident in the County experience well-being and a sense of belonging.
"We are a non profit organization in Oxford County and we illuminate the realities of poverty and marginalization to try and shift the understanding in our community and inspire collaborative action for positive change. That's a long mission, but really we are in the community to recognize those bigger picture issues and how people are experiencing poverty and different marginalization and then try to work to change that through policy and research and bring people together to talk about these issues."
Ellens-Clark says they are looking for some amazing volunteers to help out.
"We have a board of directors, that usually has about 7-13 people that have passion and our interested in seeing a difference in our community. You do not need to have previous board experience to sit on our board of directors."
They have 6 spots they need to fill and are looking for people with knowledge or expertise in transportation, information technology, service clubs and funders.
Please submit a letter outlining your interest in Social Planning Council Oxford, along with information about your knowledge, skills, and experiences that would contribute to this community leadership role to: stephanie.ellens-clark@spcoxford.ca or phone 226-228-0539 for information.
The deadline for submissions in May 17th.
