The three new cases of COVID-19 in Oxford County are in Blandford-Blenheim, Zorra Township and the first confirmed case in SWOX. The Health Unit also confirmed a 4th death from the virus, a 72 year old woman from St. Thomas.
OXFORD COUNTY - Southwestern Public Health has confirmed 3 more cases of COVID-19 in Oxford County.
The new cases are in Blandford-Blenheim, Zorra Township and the first confirmed case in South West Oxford. We currently have 14 active cases of COVID-19 in Oxford County. They include 4 cases total in Blandford-Blenheim, two cases each in Zorra, Woodstock, EZT and Tillsonburg and 1 case each in Norwich and SWOX.
The Health Unit also confirmed the fourth COVID-19 related death from our region. The deceased is a 72 year old woman from St. Thomas who had come into close contact with someone who has COVID-19. So far we have not had a confirmed death in Oxford County related to the virus.
Elgin County and St. Thomas currently have 15 active cases of the virus according to the latest numbers for Southwestern Public Health.
Overall the Health Unit has 51 cumulative cases, 16 people have recovered and four patients have died from the virus. They have done 1,457 tests and 338 test results are still pending.
