The United Way Stair Climb took over Reeves Community Complex to support United Way Oxford.
OXFORD COUNTY - It was another year for the United Way Stair Climb.
Schools from across Oxford County packed the Reeves Community Complex to show and raise support for United Way Oxford. Executive Director Amanda Molinaro was excited about the number of students at the event.
"These kids show up, and they don't just show up with obviously fundraising dollars. The community spirit that they come with both within their own schools and within schools kind of like against each other is so incredible."
Molinaro adds it is a great community effort to make sure the event happens every year, and she is so thankful for everyone involved. She mentions how much was raised during the event this year.
"The total raised was $39,688, which is going to make such an impact here in our community, like funding multiple programs that actually take place right in the schools where these kids attend."
The top three individual fundraisers are Zoey S from WCI, who raised $1,720; next was Kaitlyn B of IDCI, who brought in $1,074.75; and third was Oliver B of IDCI with $1,000. IDCI brought the most students with 350 and also raised the most money as a school, bringing in $12,815, which gave them the overall fundraising title for the fourth straight year.
