A Grade 6 class from Northdale Public School has put Woodstock on the Fair Trade map. Mrs. Buitendyk's class has completed a project that has identified products that you can find for sale in Woodstock that are fair trade compliant. That basically means they're produced by farms and factories that pay their workers a fair wage. Mrs. Buitendyk explains how her class were able to put Woodstock on the Fair Trade map. "When you went to the Fair Trade site for Canada, there were no fair trade products available...apparently. We knew there were fair trade products here, so we went on a hunt and located those products." The students took pictures of the products and posted them on-line to Fair Trade Canada. You'll now find Woodstock on the Fair Trade Map. Student Hanna Masson says the whole class is proud of the accomplishment. "To know that we put Woodstock on the Fair Trade Map and to get the word out that there are children who are working...that isn't fair."
