An important day for family and friends who have undergone organ transplantation or know someone who was a donor. The Torch of Life was lit at the Microtel Inn where students from St. Mary's Catholic High School chanted along with organ donation recipients. The torch is travelling across Ontario in hopes of raising more awareness to the importance of organ and tissue donation. Matt Lalonde's son, Little Jack, held the torch as it was lit. The 7 year-old received a liver transplant and may need another in the future. His dad says Jack is doing quite well. "I think he would make his donor family proud because he truly enjoys his life and is a very happy child and lives a very fulfilling day-to-day lifestyle." Organ donation registration can be easily made at www.beadonor.ca
