Oxford OPP are reminding the motorists to give yourself extra time at intersections this time of year.
Tall grass, corn stalks and bulrushes can make visibility a big issue in some rural parts of the county. OPP Sergeant Dave Rektor tells Heart FM this natual beauty can become quite hazardous often times obstructing drivers views.
Rektor says it is important to take a few extra seconds to stop your vehicle and look in all directions before proceeding into an intersection. In some cases you might even need to pull ahead a little bit so you can clearly see down the road.
Drivers should be mindful that natural obstructions can also make it difficult to see other drivers and pedestrians pulling out from driveways or walking across roadways. Drive with extreme caution when approaching intersections or driveways, especially in rural areas this time of year.
"Road safety is everyone’s business, make it yours."
