The city is taking advantage of the new transit terminal for the Christmas Tour of Lights.
WOODSTOCK - If you're a fan of Christmas lights, the City of Woodstock has an event for you.
Tickets are on sale for the annual Christmas Tour is Lights which provides residents the opportunity to tour Woodstock on transit buses and take in the best light displays around the City.
Economic Development Officer Brad Hammond says buses will be leaving the City's transit terminal at 7pm on Wednesday, December 17.
"There's a new location this year. We are taking advantage of our transit terminal. Parking is available in the Foodland plaza. You can get tickets at City Hall, they are on sale right now. We have sold out in the past so I would encourage people to come in and get them ahead of time. They are $2 per person and it's the best bang for your buck. You can't beat it in terms of having fun!"
Hammond says six city buses will be running that evening for the event. "We can accommodate about 200 people on the buses that we have here. We try to accommodate everyone that wants to go on the tour. People are encouraged to bring canned goods, there will be donation boxes on the city buses and canned goods will go to the Salvation Army for their food program."
"It's been a tradition in Woodstock for a long time. It's become a part of the holiday season, or the Christmas season. The route is planned out by our transit operators, so they do see most of the city and they try to plan a route that picks the best and brightest lights in the city."
You can purchase your tickets from City Hall.
