The Woodstock Downtown Farmers' Market will finish off for the season on October 8th
WOODSTOCK - Time is quickly running out if you want to visit the Woodstock Downtown Farmers' Market.
Manager of the Downtown BIA Kelly Morrison says they have had a great season with lots of new vendors. "Sadly our last day is next Thursday, October the 8th. So we're down to just two more weeks. And it's been a great run this season and we've had a continual flow of new vendors come through, and we've had perfect weather almost every week." The only week they had to cancel the Farmer's Market was Thursday, September 3rd.
Morrison says people are finally getting the message about how important it is to eat fresh and eat local. "We did a couple counts back in July which is typically the busiest part of our market season, the busiest month I guess. And we were seeing between 500 and 600 people every day. As I said that's at the height of the season."
Although they are coming to the end of their season, there is always next year. Morrison encourages people to come out and support homegrown producers. "The Farmers' Market is just another example of how you can support local farmers."
