WOODSTOCK - Registration has started for the 6th annual UDodge tournament hosted by United Way Oxford's Gen Next Committee.
Teams can be 8-10 players and each team is ask to raised a minimum of $500 to compete in the tournament. Resource Development Manager Amanda Kreiger says it's always a lot of fun.
"Each team is guaranteed to play four teams, so three before lunch and one after. They compete to be the top fundraising team but they also compete to be the top competitive team and win the tournament and the coveted wrench trophy."
Kreiger says they have some amazing prizes to give away once again this year.
"Our event sponsor is Trigon Construction again this year and they come on board as an amazing community partner and they also provide some prizes. So we have 50 plus inch TV, we don't have all the details yet but it is a great Smart TV. We will have a stand up paddleboard, bluetooth speakers, Beats headphones, so plenty of great prizes to be handed out for the top fundraiser's, we have something for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place and we will have a prize for the winning team as well."
To date the event has raised over $64,000 for our community. Kreiger says that money stays in the community.
"Last year we raised about $14,000, the great thing about this tournament is it is a lot of fun but is also a great way to give back and be connected to the County. Every dollar raised through the event stays through Oxford County and the programming services that are funded United Way throughout the year."
It's happening on April 18th at Huron Park Secondary School. You can find out more information on how to register a team online here.
