UTRCA Issues Statement Regarding Water Levels

The UTRCA expects water levels to continue to rise over the next few days.

WOODSTOCK - The warmer temperatures and precipitation are causing concern.

The Upper Thames River Conservation Authority expects water levels to continue to rise over the next few days due to the runoff from rain and melting snow. Peak flows in upstream areas of the Thames River watershed, which includes Woodstock, are expected early Saturday.

People should stay out of any flooded areas and not drive through flooded roadways. Caregivers are reminded to keep children and pets away from the water and off the ice, and it is not safe to take shelter along riverbanks or in low-lying areas that are prone to flooding.
