The City of Woodstock is still looking for volunteers for the Snow Buddies program and there's still time to sign up for a free training session this Sunday.
WOODSTOCK - The snow has arrived and the City of Woodstock is still looking for volunteers for the Snow Buddies program.
It partners local volunteers with someone in their community who needs some help shoveling their driveway and sidewalks over the winter. It could be a senior or someone living with a disability.
You have to be over the age of 12 to volunteer and it's a great way for local high school students to get their community hours.
The City will be hosting a free training session at the Southside Aquatic Centre on Sunday November 21st from 5:00 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. There's still time to register and you can do so online here.
Residents looking for help shoveling this winter can sign up for the Snow Buddies program online here or by calling 519-421-7665. Woodstock's snow removal bylaw requires all property owners to clear their driveway and sidewalks within 24 hours of a winter storm.
