A wet and mild winter means more potholes this year on the streets in the Town of Ingersoll.
INGERSOLL - The Town of Ingersoll is warning residents to be cautious of potholes.
The mild and wet winter we have been enduring, means more and more potholes happening on our streets. Public Works crews are working hard to repair the potholes as they come up, however there will be holes that either develop or increase in size.
At times the cold mixed asphalt used to patch the holes can be displaced by vehicle traffic or freeze thaw cycles. Motorists should be aware of the possibility of holes developing on roads that previously did not have any issues.
You can avoid or lessen the impact of hitting potholes by reducing your speed and avoid driving through standing water, that may be hiding holes under the surface.
Works crews will continue to patch roads until the weather improves and permanent repairs can be made.
You can report holes that have not been filled by calling Lenore Capern at 519-485-0120 or by calling the Public Works Department at 519-485-2931.
