The Woodstock-Ingersoll and District Real Estate Board will amalgamate with the Tillsonburg District Real Estate Board on October 1st, 2022.
WOODSTOCK/INGERSOLL/TILLSONBURG - The Woodstock-Ingersoll and District Real Estate Board will be joining forces with the Tillsonburg District Real Estate Board.
Anthony Montanaro, the President of the Woodstock-Ingersoll and District Real Estate Board, says their members approved the amalgamation last Wednesday.
"We are small in size but combined we thought we would have a bigger voice within Oxford County. We started a task force at the beginning of the year to see what it would look like and we wound up with an amalgamation vote that was successful on both ends last week."
A transition board is now in place to make sure everything goes smoothly over the next few months. The amalgamation should be official as of October 1st, 2022.
The name of the new board will be the Woodstock, Ingersoll, Tillsonburg and Area Association of Realtors, but it's pending final approval from the Canadian Real Estate Association and the Ontario Real Estate Association.
Bryan Wiltshire, the President of the Tillsonburg District Real Estate Board, says the amalgamation will benefit everyone in the long run.
"We will have more staff to carry out board duties. With combining the members together, we will have more services for our members, and those services then in turn are benefits for our clients as well."
Montanaro says the main office will be located at the Woodstock-Ingersoll and District Real Estate Board's main office on Springbank Ave in Woodstock.
