Woodstock's downtown businesses are being asked for an extra 1.87 per cent this year. That's the budget that was formally approved by city council on Thursday. BIA Manager Kelly Morrison says it's a lean budget. "Basically the increase that is there is cost of living if you will so just the heat and the hydro and the bills, that type of stuff. Everything else is basically the same. The budget line is the same as it was last year. " Morrison says the downtown has been given another boost by the opening of the Thursday Farmers' Market. It has expanded hours for this year and will run from Noon-5PM. The BIA helps promote, maintain and beautify the Downtown area.
