Woodstock Police were busy on NYE with 90 calls for service, including someone who started a fire by tossing fireworks into a random home and a hit and run at the Tulip Motel parking lot.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police had a busy New Years Eve with almost 90 calls for service.
Officers were out conducting RIDE programs and are happy to report that no one had been found to be driving under the influence.
Police and Fire were called to home on Wednesday, just before 2:00 a.m about a small fire on Springbank Ave. The fire was caused by a firework, that was thrown into the home through a screen window. The homeowner suffered minor injuries extinguishing the flames. Police do not have any suspects at this time.
A garage on Pembers Pass was entered overnight and a saw was stolen. Anyone having information regarding this theft is requested to contact the Woodstock Police Service.
Woodstock Police are also investigating a hit and run a the Tulip Motel on Dundas Street. The accident happened around 3:20 a.m. when a gold Volkswagen vehicle was struck by an unknown black pickup truck. Anyone having information is asked to contact the Woodstock Police Service.
Police are also investigating an early morning incident on New Years Day on Keats Street. One man suffered minor injuries and damage to his home during the disturbance. Police say the individuals involved were known to each other and that they are still investigating the matter.
