WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police is joining the Oxford OPP and Stratford Police in closing their doors to the community.
In a release today, the WPS said the Woodstock Police Station will be closed to the public later today. The move was done to comply with protecting essential service staff and the community.
If you need police assistance it is preferred that you contact by phone or online reporting. Police services will still be available by phone by dialing 911 for an emergency, 519-537-2323 for non-emergent inquiries or report online by clicking “Online Reporting” under the “Community Service” tab at www.woodstockpolice.ca.
There will be an intercom available at the front doors of the police station that will connect you to the Communications Centre if you do not have access to a phone. Those looking for police assistance will be asked a series of screening questions to assist in protecting officers from the COVID-19 virus. The Collision Reporting Centre will remain open for business at this time.
Police ask that you do your social duty and continue to practice social distancing. Woodstock Police officers have been instructed to use personal protective equipment where needed. If you see officers wearing gloves or masks do not be alarmed, this is for their safety and the safety of the community.
The Woodstock Police Service appreciates the community working together with our emergency service partners and health care workers to continue do our part in keeping our community safe and healthy during these uncertain times.
