Local food fanatics can get their fix Thursdays at Market Square during the Downtown Farmers' Market.
WOODSTOCK - The Downtown Farmers' Market in Woodstock is coming back for its 8th season.
14 vendors will be on hand this year for the market that runs every Thursday from noon to 5:00 p.m. Manager of the Downtown Woodstock BIA Kelly Morrison tells Heart FM they have a number of new vendors this year.
"We have a handful of new vendors including Pilliterri Estate Winery from Niagara-On-the-Lake will be joining us this year for the season and they will have 8 varieties of wine for sale and we have a new baker this year, the Oxford General Bakery."
She adds a lot of the old favourites will be there as well. The Downtown market runs until October and will feature fresh locally grown food. Morrison says asparagus will be the hot item this Thursday and strawberries are right around the corner.
"They will find asparagus, just fresh out of the ground in the last couple of days, hot house items like tomatoes and cucumbers will be there, and hot house items from Niagara will be there as well but the main item right now is asparagus and shortly thereafter we will be following with strawberries."
