The Ontario Toy Show and Rotary Consignment Auction is back this weekend, bringing all kinds of toy collectors and enthusiasts to the friendly city.
WOODSTOCK - One of the Woodstock-Oxford Rotary Club's popular events makes its return this Saturday and Sunday.
They will be putting on the Ontario Toy Show and Rotary Consignment Auction.
The event is one of the organization's major fundraisers, which will be at the Quality Hotel and Suites.
Show Coordinator Doug Vincent says there will be different activities happening all weekend, including Room Trading.
"People can visit each other's rooms, they can walk the hallways at the Quality Inn and if the door's open that's an invitation to go in. Members who are in the hobby put out their items on their beds and dressers; you can buy, you can sell, you can trade or you can just socialize."
Vincent adds you don't have to book a room at the hotel in order to participate and it's open to the public.
The viewing for the toy auction will get underway at 8:30 am on Saturday, before the sale begins an hour later. Over two days, the event will also have a dinner and different seminars. The Toy Show will run from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm on Sunday.
He says it attracts all kinds of people from across Canada and beyond.
"This is kind of Canada's favourite show. A lot of people will come from Eastern Canada, Quebec, Manitoba, obviously Ontario, but it also attracts our neighbouring US friends from Michigan, Pennsylvania and New York."
This is the organization's 34th year hosting this fundraiser. Tickets cost just $5.00 for adults and $1.00 for children.
