The Woodstock Navy Vets launched their inaugural GOHL season with two victories.
GOHL - It was the start of a new chapter for the Woodstock Navy Vets.
The local hockey team kicked off it's inaugural season with the Greater Ontario Hockey League over the weekend.
Their first Junior B hockey matchup was on Friday, with a road game against the Listowel Cyclones. Jaxon Bagshaw scored the game winning goal in overtime, to secure a 6-5 victory for Woodstock.
The Vets returned to Woodstock for their home opener at Southwood Arena on Friday. Over 1,000 fans packed the Community Complex for the big game against the Stratford Warriors, which ended with a 5-3 victory for the Navy Vets. Cole Shoup, Keaton Ferras, Joshua Jodoin, Kyle Arthur, and Colby Branton scored for the Friendly City.
The Navy Vets have two home games scheduled for this weekend. They will take on the Elmira Sugar Kings on Friday and the St. Marys Lincolns on Saturday.
