WOODSTOCK - The 401 West bound lanes/ramps are closed at Mill Street in Woodstock.
Traffic will be backed up and very slow in the southern areas of the city. Please avoid this area if you can and drive according to the weather conditions. The 401 W/B is also closed at Foldens Line after a multi vehicle collision involving several transport trucks this afternoon. We are hearing the crash involved 15-20 vehicles. All three lanes are expected to be closed for several hours.
Motorists are being asked to get off at the Norwich Ave exit or Towerline Road.
Tips to keep yourself safe on the drive home tonight:
- Keep you gas tank full with plenty of gas
- Have an emergency kit in your vehicle including extra warm clothing/blankets
- Make sure your lights are turned on when there is bad visibility
- Brush the snow and ice off of your entire car (not just the windows) to prevent more blowing snow and flying ice chunks
