There was a big name at the Craigowan golf course today (Wednesday). Paul Henderson was in town for the Youth for Christ golf tournament. Henderson is best known for his heroics in the 1972 Summit Series against the Soviet Union. He reminisced about game five when teammate Phil Esposito fell in front of the Soviet faithful: " Everyone else would have been embarrassed. Not Phil he waved to the crowd, and it ended up changing the tension in the room. He was just a great leader." The 69 year old said he is supportive of the Youth for Christ cause because "The best thing that ever happened to me was becoming a Christian." Henderson has been to the tournament close to 10 times. He told Heart FM it's always nice seeing familiar faces. It turns out Henderson is quite the golfer he shot a 77 at the tournament.
