United Way Oxford collected 1,435 boxes of feminine hygiene products during this year's Tampon Tuesday fundraiser.
OXFORD COUNTY - United Way Oxford is excited to announce its grand total for this year's Tampon Tuesday fundraiser.
After a week of collections, the community has come together to collect 1,435 boxes of feminine hygiene products for people in need. That equals about $16,000 worth of products for the community. The Woodstock Ingersoll Tillsonburg and Area Association of Realtors contributed about 563 boxes of products to help the cause, which works out to about $5,000 worth.
Tampon Tuesday began in 2009 to help end period poverty and support women in the community. Menstrual hygiene products are one of the most requested yet least donated items at food banks.
United Way Oxford sends a big thank you to everyone for their support during their campaign, and want to remind the community that they are always accepting donations of pads and tampons throughout the year.
