The Woodstock Navy Vets are now in first place in the PJHL Doherty Division after celebrating three wins over the long weekend.
WOODSTOCK - It was a very successful Family Day long weekend for the Woodstock Navy Vets.
They celebrated three wins total. They beat the New Hamburg Firebirds 4-3 on Friday, crushed the Hespler Shamrocks 10-3 on Sunday and narrowly beat the Norwich Merchants 5-4 yesterday.
The Woodstock Navy Vets are now on a six-game winning streak and they are in first place in the PJHL Dorherty Division.
In other local Junior C hockey action; the Tavistock Braves demolished the Hespler Shamrocks 7-2 on Friday and doubled the New Hamburg Firebirds 4-2 yesterday. The Norwich Merchants also celebrated a 4-3 win over the Wellesley Applejacks on Friday.
The Merchants were supposed to face the Firebirds on Saturday, but that game had to be postponed due to the blowing snow. The Braves were also supposed to take on the Applejacks on Saturday, but that game was also called off due to the weather.
