Witaar Releases Numbers for August

It was a mixed month in August for the Woodstock Ingersoll Tillsonburg and Area Association of Realtors when it came to inventory and sales.

OXFORD COUNTY - The local housing market saw a significant increase in inventory last month, while home sales remained relatively steady.

According to the Woodstock-Ingeroll-Tillsonburg and Area Association of Realtors, 141 homes were sold through the MLS system in August 2026. That was two fewer sales than August 2025, but about 10.7 percent above the five-year average.

The market also saw 209 new residential listings, an increase of nearly three percent from last August.  It was the highest number of new listings recorded for August in more than 15 years.

At the end of August, there were 746 active residential listings, up 6.6 percent from a year earlier and the highest level seen for the month in more than a decade. The average selling price increased by 1.9 percent to $629,833.

The association says the market remains relatively balanced, with buyers having more options as the fall market gets underway.
