A community swap meet is returning to Oxford County with events in Embro and Sweaburg.
EMBRO - The annual community swap meet is coming back to Oxford County.
Reuseapalooza-ha will be at the Embro Community Hall this Saturday from 8 a.m. until noon, and you will be able to potentially find your newest treasure. Organizer Brian Smith says he enjoys putting on the event for the community.
"It's a great event in terms of a social event because you get to watch those things that you thought, why do I have them? Being loved by somebody else. And it also means you bump into lots of other people. And it also means you see that we can do a circular economy in ways that were never imagined by what the province mandated."
Items can be dropped off until 11 a.m. on the day of the event. Smith says what happens to any leftover items.
"Significant amounts of what we get as well at the end of the event, if they're still there, we take them to what we call the retail charities, and they'll get resold and do good in the community."
You can find a list of accepted and non-accepted items by visiting the Reuseapalooza-ha website. If you are not able to make the event on Saturday, you will have an opportunity on September 26th, as there is another Reuseapalooza-ha in Sweaburg at the Lions Pavilion.
