Farmers can recycle silage bags, bunker covers, bale wraps, fertilizer bags, and salt bags for $50 per tonne.
OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford County is reminding farmers out there to take advantage of the agricultural plastics pilot program.
They can pick up the collection bags for free at the Oxford County Waste Management Facility so they can recycle silage bags, bunker covers, bale wraps, fertilizer bags, and salt bags for $50 per tonne. All of the materials must be reasonably clean and they must be sorted according to their type with the top of the bag tied.
The County collected five tonnes of agricultural plastics through this program last year.
Those looking for more information can call the Oxford County Waste Management Facility at 1-800-755-0394 or send an e-mail to wastemanagement@oxfordcounty.ca.
