OXFORD COUNTY - Southwestern Public Health is anticipating an announcement tomorrow about which colour or tier of the Provincial Framework that our region will be in starting on Tuesday.
In a statement on social media, the Health Unit stated the following:
"We will post details as soon as we have them as we know everyone would like to know for both personal and professional reasons.
Our colour or tier will not change some truths we must continue to live with:
- COVID-19 is still circulating in our community at much higher rates than it was for most of last year
- The COVID-19 virus has mutated and we really, really want to keep that from spreading.
- A low vaccine supply means we've vaccinated our most vulnerable within Long Term Care Homes and high-risk Retirement Homes, but the rest of us need to be patient until the supply arrives!
Until then, you know what to do! Keep up the good work."
In an interview with Heart FM on Wednesday, Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Joyce said it's likey our region will be in the orange or red tier, based on our current numbers.
