The battle over wind turbines in Norwich township resumes tonight. The community group known as the East Oxford Community Alliance is holding their own public meeting, at the same time, in the same location, as Pro Wind Canada. Pro Wind is getting closer to putting up 10 turbines along Gunn's Hill Road in Norwich Township. Their proposal also calls for transmission lines running up into the south end of Woodstock. Both meetings are set for 6-9PM at the Quality Inn and Suites in the downstairs meeting rooms. The East Oxford Alliance says it wants the public to know about some of the adverse affects of turbines, and says once turbines are introduced to an area, more usually follow. They're encouraging Woodstock residents to attend the meeting to learn more about the potential impacts of turbine developments in Oxford County.
