The Oxford Attack major bantams split a pair of games over the past week. The Attack, fresh off the Christmas break defeated London Gold Medal in a sloppy low scoring affair 31-28. The Attack overcame a 6-point deficit heading into the fourth quarter to prevail. Joshua Flanagan led Attack scorers with 11 points while Nick Keeley added eight. The player of the game for the attack was Tyler Rooke who continues to build confidence every game and has become the team?s best free throw shooter. On Sunday, the Attack travelled to Pickering for a contest against the Durham Blues. The Attack fell behind 10-0 early against an athletic Blues team that were causing many turnovers on both sides of half and took and 25-8 lead into half time. The Attack regrouped at half and narrowed the lead eventually falling 47-34. Flanagan led the offense with 12 points including five out of seven from the free throw line. Derric Pollock added 8 points. The player of the game was newcomer Ryan Lee who continually managed to shake free from his defender creating good scoring chances. Next up for the major bantams is a tournament in Brantford this coming weekend.
