The Oxford Attack Under-14 girls basketball team earned their first medals of the season, in a weekend tournament in London. The Attack started the tournament sluggish, dropping a 33-11 game to Orillia. But, the girls rebounded in the second game, beating St. Thomas, 34-26. Then the Attack turned in what coaches say was their best game of the season, beating Cambridge 49-31. Dawn McDowell contributed to the big win with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 block shots. Olivia Coomber stepped up her game as well with 9 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 blocked shots. Sam Olson and Olivia Krampien contributed 9 and 8 points respectively. They then finished the tournament, losing to the eventual winners, the host London Gold Medal, 29-17.
