Police were called to the 13th Concession in Burford after a pair of ATV riders refused to leave private property.
BURFORD - OPP were called after a couple of ATV riders refused to leave private property on the 13th Line near Burford.
Police say the property owner asked the riders to leave their property on Monday afternoon around 1:30. The riders refused to do so and continued to tear up the field. Police were called, but by the time officers arrived, the ATV riders had left the area.
ATV's and Off Road Vehicles can cause extensive damage to farmer fields.
Police are reminding all riders of these safety tips.
- Only ride on private property that you have received written permission from the owner
- Always wear a comfortable, well fitted and fastened CSA approved helmet
- Never drink and ride
- Take a safety course and get to know your equipment
- Stay in control and ride within your skill level
- Know your responsibilities wherever you ride
- Let someone know your trip or activity plans
