The Oxford County Naval Veterans Association will be remembering the Battle of the Atlantic on May 4th.
OXFORD COUNTY - A ceremony is coming to Oxford County to honour the Battle of the Atlantic.
The Oxford County Naval Veterans Association will be hosting the event on May 4th at the Club. 1st Vice President, Dennis Beattie says what you can expect to see at the event.
"We have the bands marching, we have the Ingersoll Pipe Band this year. We have different colour parties carrying their colours and we just honour the ships and men that were lost through this battle."
There will also be wreathes laid on the water to honour Canada’s longest military engagement of the Second World War. The Battle of the Atlantic lasted from September 1939 to May 1945.
The ceremony begins at 10:30 a.m. and will be finished by 11:30.
