In light of dwindling numbers of Bowl for Kids Sake teams, Big Brothers Big Sisters is hosting an online auction.
WOODSTOCK - Big Brothers Big Sisters of Woodstock and District is holding an online auction alongside their Bowl for Kids Sake fundraiser this year.
The local agency has seen a decline in bowling teams so they decided to start up this auction in hopes of reaching the $25,000 fundraising goal.
Interim Executive Director Kristen Ralph tells Heart FM they have never had to hold an online auction alongside Bowl for Kids Sake until now.
"We have done it in the past for other events and they run really well so we decided that this would be a great way for us to make some money."
Some of the auction items up for grabs include a wine tour for 10 people, a Keurig coffee machine, and a two person ride in a hot air balloon. Ralph says the online auction website is very user friendly.
"You can choose the items that you want to bid on, decide how much you are willing to spend, and put yourself in for a proxy bid so it will continue bidding for you up until the item gets to the price that you are willing to pay for it."
The online auction will begin on Monday May 8th at 9 a.m. and it will close Friday May 12th at 4:30 p.m.
All of the funds raised will go towards Big Brother Big Sisters programs.
