Big Brothers Big Sisters Trivia Night at the Quality Hotel and Suites raised approximately $4,500 this year, with a record breaking number of teams.
WOODSTOCK - It was the biggest year yet for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Woodstock and District's Trivia Night.
Case worker and Fundraising/Marketing Assistant Kristen Ralph says participants really packed the Quality Hotel and Suites in Woodstock.
"It went amazing! So we had the highest number of teams that we've ever had - so we were at 21 teams, which is around 170 odd people which is fantastic and we raised about $4,500 this year." Last year there were around 15 teams who participated. Ralph says the word has really gotten out and people are excited to take part.
All that money will be going back to Big Brothers Big Sisters.
"Yes - that's going to go directly to programming," Ralph says. "So to the intake of volunteers and the children in our agency and it's going to go directly to having kids mentored in a one to one or group relationship."
Ralph also says they have around 60 kids who are still waiting to be matched with a mentor. She says they have many different programs that can fit into a busy schedule and they are hoping to see more people step up to the plate and help these kids.
