East Oxford Public School is shooting for the stars this year in hopes of raising $25,000 through their Garden of Treasures Auction.
WOODSTOCK - The East Oxford Home and School Association, staff and students are coming together to make the Garden of Treasures themed Auction event a fun and successful night.
The biennial live and silent auction is the school's largest fundraiser. Last year they raised a total of $20,000. This year they are shooting to raise $25,000.
Member of East Oxford Home and School Association, Candice Gunning explains what you can expect to be at the event.
"All is welcome, grandparents, anyone that you know would be wonderful. We are doing a penny sale, so the kids can get involved in there as well. We're having a silent auction and you can also stay for our live auction. There is a kids drop in center, they can do an art and craft while they're there and get the whole family involved."
She adds that they will be serving beef on a bun as well.
This year, all the money raised will be put towards new playground equipment for the students.
Gunning shares why new playground equipment is a demand.
"Currently our 70 primary kids have a little slide that they're allowed to go on. We'd like to add some playground equipment that could enhance the playground."
The event will be on April 28 at East Oxford Public School. Members of the community are encouraged to come out to support the local school and help them reach their goal.
