Trevor Hendershott has already surpassed his $500 fundraising goal for DASO and he's going to continue to collect books for the shelter until the end of the month.
WOODSTOCK - Donations continue to pour in for the Little Wonders Book Fundraiser for DASO.
Trevor Hendershott started the Facebook Group two weeks ago and set out to collect $500 worth of books for the shelter.
Hendershott is asking people to donate using Usborne books. They have a variety of styles of books, where kids can touch and feel, flip books, colouring, jigsaw puzzles for the older ones, even some books for teens.
DASO needs books for kids of all ages and could really use more books for ages 0-2.
Hendershott says he has been blown away by the community response.
"The response I have gotten so far has been pretty incredible, I have exceeded my goal already and it is still not done yet."
He explains why he started this fundraiser for DASO.
"When I was looking for organizations, who could use these books, I reached out to DASO because I wasn't sure how many children they take in there. I was surprised to learn just how many kids they do take in there and they definitely had a need for more books."
You can find more information on how to donate online here.
