Boundary Adjustment between Norwich and Woodstock Approved

The Boundary adjustment between Norwich Township and the City of Woodstock has been approved by both municipalities and the County of Oxford.

WOODSTOCK - The Boundary adjustment between Norwich Township and the City of Woodstock has been approved by both municipalities and the County of Oxford.

This means the adjustment will move forward as amended excluding Eastwood Residents. Woodstock Mayor Trevor Birtch tells Heart FM council approved the adjustment last night.

"So Woodstock City council voted unanimously in favour of the boundary adjustment with Norwich Township. So we will be working on finalizing the documents over the coming weeks and getting those submitted to the province for approval."

He adds this is great news for the city.

"This will provide long term commercial and industrial land for future growth and one of the things through the process is we have had public meetings and we have heard from the residents of Eastwood that they do not want to be included in this adjustment. Both the Township of Norwich and the City of Woodstock listened to those concerns, so citizens here in our community know that council does weigh all of the options and listen to the people."

The boundary adjustment includes lands right behind the Toyota factory at Highway 2 and lands around the junction of the 401 and the 403.
