Oxford County Council will have a different budget schedule this year.
OXFORD COUNTY - Work on the Oxford County budgets will be delayed this year.
The delay is due to the upcoming municipal elections.
Warden David Mayberry says that typically they begin working on the budgets late summer.
"Normally staff are working on the budgets by end of summer and over the fall and by early November council starts looking at budgets and hopefully has some passed by early December."
He adds that the new schedule could prove difficult for some new to council.
"This year because of the election the new council will actually start looking at the budgets very early in December. I think there's three meetings in December to talk about budget. It will be real challenging for new councillors because it is all new information and they will have lots of questions so it will take a lot of time."
