The first wreaths will be laid at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow morning.

WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Remembrance Day ceremony will be happening at the Cenotaph once again this year rain or shine.

The Legion does not have a rain location this year. The first wreaths will be laid at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday morning on Graham Street in Woodstock.

First Vice President and Poppy Chair Coordinator for the Woodstock Legion Rob Gable says they will have a couple of World War 2 veterans on hand.

"We are expecting the World War 2 veterans from our branch to attend and hopefully they will be able to lay some wreaths for us on behalf of their fallen comrades. We will have some chairs set out for them and a couple of the churches have made lap blankets which we will present to the veterans to help keep them warm and dry and try to make it as pleasant of a day as we can."

Gable says they will have transportation for anyone who needs it.

"We will have a city bus stop at our branch building and pick people up and take them to the cenotaph because parking is at a premium up there and they will also bring the people back to the branch afterwards."

The Woodstock Legion branch will be open after the ceremony for a chili lunch that is open to everyone.

The ceremony holds a special meaning this year as it is the 100 year anniversary of the end of the first World War.

The following will be closed for the Remembrance Day ceremony on Sunday:

- 9:00am    Buller @ Riddell (except for buses transporting Vets & Colour Party)
- 9:00am    Graham @ Hunter
- 9:00am    Graham @ Drew
- 9:00am    Buller @ Light

At 10:45 the parade will depart from the corner of Hunter & Graham St. moving north to the Cenotaph at the corner of Graham & Buller Streets.
